The Division of Social Investment Assessment, which reports to the Sub-Secretary of Social Assessment of the Ministry of Social Development, is comprised of the Departments of Investments, Studies, Methodologies and the Training Unit. This Division is responsible for the preparation of standards, instructions and procedures for the formulation and evaluation of investment initiatives (basic studies, projects and programs); preparation and updating of social evaluation methodologies; training of public officials in these matters and administration of the operating system of the Integrated Project Bank (BIP).

 

Based on the information reported by the executing entities during the execution phase and in coordination with the other actors participating in the National Investment System (SIN), the Ministry of Social Development, through the Division of Social Investment Assessment, carries out ex-post evaluations of short, medium and long term. In conjunction with the Ministry of Finance, it makes available to the Special Joint Budget Commission, Regional Governments, Regional Councils, Mayors and Municipal Councils, during the month of August of each year, the "Report on Investment Initiatives Evaluated in the Investment System", which indicates the percentage of investment decreed and executed in the preceding year.
