SEGEPLAN is the State planning entity, which advises and technically assists public institutions and the System of Development Councils, to link public policy processes, planning and programming with the National Development Plan and Policy, as well as for their due follow-up and evaluation.
Regarding the institutionalization of the 2030 Agenda, SEGEPLAN was designated as the Technical Secretariat of the National Council for Urban and Rural Development (CONADUR), and is also responsible for coordinating, together with the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the monitoring and evaluation of the Agenda, seeking to analyze progress in the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals in Guatemala. This mechanism is still in process since the construction of national indicators has not yet been finalized.
