1982 Constitution of the Republic of El Salvador (Spanish)

The Constitution of the Republic of El Salvador establishes in Article 167 the attributes that correspond to the Council of Ministers, and among them is to prepare and elaborate the Government General Plan, which is aligned with the Five-Year Development Plan 2014-2019. Regarding the responsibility of municipalities, the Constitution establishes in Article 203 the obligation collaborate with other public institutions in national or regional development plans. Also worth highlighting, is Article 206, which refers to “local development plans that must be approved by the respective Municipal Council; and the State Institutions must collaborate with the Municipality in their development”.
