Law 5525: Law on National Planning of Costa Rica (Spanish)

The National Planning Law No. 5525 creates the National Planning System (SNP) as the cornerstone for the direction and coordination of the Public Sector. It establishes the procedures and mechanisms to generate capacities in the institutions, linking the processes of foresight, programming, budgeting, execution and evaluation of policies, plans and programs in relation to national development.

 

Chapter 3, Article 9: The Ministry of Planning must make sure that public investment programs, including those of decentralized institutions and other public-law organizations, are compatible with the previsions and the priority order established in the National Development Plan (PND).
