The Physical Planning Act of Antigua and Barbuda
According to the Physical Planning Act (No. 6 of 2003), the orderly development of the occupation, use and transformation of the land requires: a) the efficient and equitable use and occupation of the earth's resources and their sustainable use, taking into account all economic and environmental factors; (b) optimal subdivision of land and adequate provision of services; (c) the assurance of the health, safety and welfare of the people; (d) the maintenance and improvement of the quality of the environment in which the human settlements are located; (e) the protection and conservation of cultural heritage; and (f) the prevalence of general interest on the subject in the occupation and use of land.
