Project for the location of SDGs in Suriname

In Suriname, the Ministry of Regional Development with technical and financial assistance from UNDP, has developed an initiative to locate the SDG. The objective is for SDG's to be understood and adopted locally while the communities and different groups of society have spaces lo express their opinion in relation with their goals of development. In addition, this initiative looks for the empowerment of the local authorities to properly identity the needs of the Community. The project contributes to the awareness and exchange of information on the SDGs and the vision of the regional and local authorities, communities, groups / organizations of Suriname society  about their role and contribution to achieve the SDGs. Within the framework of this initiative, local workshops have been carried out with youth groups, indigenous populations, the academy, the private sector and training of officials of the Ministry of Regional Development on mechanisms to promote the location of the SDGs.
