The Budget Office is a service under the Ministry of Finance, whose main function is the preparation of the National Budget and the implementation of budgetary policy in the context of social and economic development plans and other national objectives (Art. 1, DFL 106, Ministry of Finance, 1960).
In order to monitor the financial progress of investment projects, DIPRES manages the Integrated State Financial Management System (SIGFE). It is the responsibility of the entities executing the investment initiatives to register the progress of the project in the SIGFE platform. From this platform, information is shared with the Integrated Project Bank managed by the Social Investment Evaluation Division.
DIPRES is the entity in charge of establishing budget ceilings and preparing the annual budget, as well as monitoring and evaluating budget execution.
